The posterior endings of both labia join together and form a skin fold called the frenulum of the labia minora (also called the fourchette of the labia minora).
An aesthetic vaginal surgery can include a procedure called a frenulectomy, it is most often needed during a labia minoraplasty in patients with prominent frenulum. If this area is not addressed at the same time this tissue will look more prominent and pigmented than the rest of the labia.
